QWO™ Q & A

What is QWO™?

QWO™ is a non-surgical, injectable treatment that effectively targets and destroys the fibrous bands that cause cellulite. These fibrous bands connect the upper and lower dermal layer, and as we age, these bands get tighter, which causes the dimples that we commonly refer to as cellulite. The active ingredient in the injectable gel that makes up QWO™ are enzymes called collagenases.

These special enzymes work in three different ways to eliminate cellulite:

  • Attacking and releasing the tension in the fibrous bands
  • Redistributing the fat cells
  • Stimulating the growth of new collagen

These three actions will effectively improve the appearance of unsightly cellulite. Read below for answers to commonly asked questions about QWO™.

Is QWO™ safe?

QWO™ is the one and only FDA approved injectable proven to reduce cellulite in the buttocks of adult women. More than 1800 women took part in the FDA study, and the FDA approved the injectable for the safe treatment of cellulite. Note that patients allergic to collagenase or those that have an active infection in the treatment area should not be treated.

How many QWO™ treatments are needed for optimal results?

Clinical studies showed that most patients received three treatments, spaced 21 days apart for optimal results. But be mindful that every patient is different and many patients see visible results after only one treatment. Final results are seen up to 10 weeks following initial treatment.

How is the QWO™ treatment peformed?

A provider (either a trained doctor or a nurse) injects the QWO™ product directly into the predetermined targeted area with a small needle. Dimples in the buttocks are the optimal and recommended targeted area.

How long does a QWO™ injection take?

Most patients are treated in 10 minutes or less.

Does the QWO™ injection hurt?

Expect mild discomfort, just like any other injection, but know that the needle used to inject QWO™ is extremely small and any discomfort is normally tolerable, especially because the injection takes little time.

What does QWO™ cost?

Expect to pay about $650 per treatment. Discounted package pricing for multiple treatments is also available.

Are there any side effects to a QWO™ treatment?

Moderate bruising around the injection site is common and should be expected. This bruising persists only for a couple days. Hardness, redness, itching, discoloration, mild swelling and a feeling of warmth can all occur but are mild in nature. Allergic reaction can occur in rare cases, or if the patient has a known allergy to collagenase.

How do I know if QWO™ is right for me?

Most women have cellulite, approximately nine out of every 10 women. And if you have cellulite that you don’t like, then QWO™ is right for you. Ask your medical provider for more information about if it’s specifically right to treat your cellulite.
