What is Botox?

As far as modern cosmetic injectables go, Botox is the most popular and well-known. It contains a neurotoxin that affects communication between your motor nerves and your muscles. It temporarily stops targeted muscles from receiving those communications so they stop flexing, whether you’re trying to flex them or not.

You’ll have the option to get a topical anesthetic before your Botox injections. This makes the injections far less uncomfortable for you. 

After your injections are complete, Leslie gives you instructions to control any resulting redness. You can go back to work immediately after your visit to Wrinkle Fairy since the treatment doesn’t require any downtime. 

What can Botox do?

Fine lines on your face

Some common fine lines, like crow’s feet and frown lines, come from repeated movements and expressions. You can see them even when you’re not consciously flexing a single muscle in your face. 

Botox injections stop the muscles from flexing even when you’re not trying to flex them, smoothing the unconcealable wrinkles for months. 

Droopy eyebrows

Droopy eyebrows are a common consequence of aging that can make you appear tired or sad even when you’re not feeling that way. 

A Botox brow lift can elevate the inner or outer sides of your eyebrows, according to the specific muscles pulling your brows downward. 

Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is an elaborate term for excessive sweating. If your shirt tends to get damp under your armpits often, a few Botox injections can disable the sweat glands in the area for some time. 

How often can I get Botox injections?

Generally, it takes about 4-6 months before the effects of Botox wear off. By this time, you may notice that your wrinkles reappear or that your sweat glands start functioning again.

You can come back to Wrinkle Fairy regularly to refresh your look after the effects wear off. However, Leslie doesn’t recommend having Botox treatments on the same area more than four times per year.
